The MID/MIL is an overrolling machine that overrolls a natural wrapper around a bunch with homogenized binder. The machine is easy to maintain and has standard ceramic bearings in the stainless steel rolling device, that ensures a long operating life. The machine is suited for one cigar model but can be converted to another model by changing format parts.

Premade bunches are put into the JLfeeder of the machine. The JL-feeder separates and presents the bunches one by one. A long gripper arm picks a bunch out of the JL feeder, and puts it into the stainless steel rolling device. An operator cuts the wrapper out of a tobacco leaf on the machine. The leaf carrier takes a wrapper and carries it to the rolling device, were it is wrapped around the bunch in a spiral wise way. Just before overrolling, glue is added through a stretching plate or optional the AGS gluing system. After overrolling, a small gripper arm takes the cigar out of the rolling device and places it onto a discharge system. The type of discharge system depends on the next step in the production process.

To achieve an optimal speed and reliability of the machine, all main movements are mechanically driven by cams.
